Just in time for my mini getaway, I thought I’d take a look back at one of my favorite e-commerce to brick and mortar store companies. For those of you that aren’t familiar with it. Birchbox is a subscription box start up that will send you a box of sample size, high end beauty products (and a few lesser known independent brands) for you to try. You can choose from a men’s or women’s version but they do have quite a bit of competition in the space.
Ahead of the holidays, here are a few pictures to get you prepped for gift shopping. The brick and mortar location in Soho offers up the option of BYOB (Build Your Own Box) or hand picking products. Fun tip: you can book a hair, makeup or nail appointment in store and beautify downstairs at a reasonable price.
I should mention one of the unique features of the store is that the layout groups make up by types of make up rather than brands. If you walk into a Sephora or mall make-up department, for example, you will see things stacked up by brands. In this case, you can see all the mascaras in the mascara section and of course test everything out.
