[A Catamaran Sail In Hawaii – Oahu, Hawaii]

April 16, 2020

Ben and I wanted to do something a bit low key and relaxing. Usually, on our vacations, we try and really go to the max, hiking every day, reserving fun meals and maybe taking a class or two. This time we did the exact opposite and found the most stress free activity we could. After ally he craziness of travel and covid-19 spreading, this ended up being the perfect respite from the madness.

I can’t guarantee you’ll have quite the lovely experience we had because a lot of travelers had cleared out of Hawaii at this point. We ourselves ended up leaving early due to COVID-19. I do want to say at this time that we were so, so careful during our time there, wiping things down making sure we were being as clean as possible and fully aware travelers were potentially putting people at risk far more than locals. At this stage there hadn’t been a single shelter in place yet anywhere.

We sailed through Sail Holokai and we loved our experience. There were far less people than could have been on the boat of course but I think it would have been a really great experience regardless.

There are a couple of options, we chose the Tradewind Sail:

  • Turtle Canyon Snorkel Sail: departs 9am and noon $80, 2.5 hours
  • Tradewind Sail: departs at 3 pm, $40, 1.5 hours
  • Sunset Cruise: departs at 5 pm, $60, 1.5 hours
