It’s been about two years since my parents have had a moment to come up and swing by NYC, I’ve mostly tried to take a day or two at a time to visit them in Tejas so it was nice to see them.
Since we only had Thursday night and the day Friday before an early exit back to ‘Cuse for my little sister’s graduation. I decided the best place to go for dinner would be my favorite Manhattan Italian restaurant… La Lanterna Di Vittorio off Washington Square Park (West Village area). Hands down the best thing to get there is the Lasagna Quattro Formaggi but make sure you get the truffle paste in there…
Anyhow as you can seem, we were pretty lazy about pictures this time around but here are a few from our small sidetrip to Central Park the next day:
Clearly my mom dresses my Dad… poor, poor Dad
Going back to ‘Cuse was so great I basically forgot to take photos and spent most of my time in my sister’s sorority house or on a structurally unsound porch off Euclid. It’s interesting how we both went to the same school, a school we both love but had totally different experiences.
Surely it was necessary to take photos before my sister’s convocation… she thoroughly enjoyed it:
And of course we actually went to convocation….
I definitely didn’t bother taking photo of my sister and I hanging out after dinner but here are a few pics from the night and a glorious video of course. We went to Danzer’s, Syracuse’s lone German restaurant. I will say I have respect for the handful of alumni that went to Syracuse and ventured off Marshall Street or Armory Square to this spot – great food in huge amounts mmmm.
Then my sister and I went back and had some sister bonding time. Of course that meant we had to get up at the crack of dawn for convocation and I had an excuse to go back to Bruegger’s for smoken salmon cream cheese mmm
PHEW what a fun but completely exhausting weekend. I came home, had some Dosa with my parents and slept for the few hours I had before work…. *yawn* still recovering
I guess the only way to end this post is to throw up some photos of me and my sissy when we were little, crazy to think how quickly the years fly by:
