[Low Tech Excursions]

I was underwhelmed when my friend Ted (who is working on a hip hop documentary) dragged me along to see some graffiti last summer. As I explained, very eloquently I might add, “I can see graffiti outside my place in Brooklyn”. Right outside the 45 court sq stop in Queens is a block sized area called 5PTZ . From the 80’s on, this building/block has turned into a sort of tourist site, monument and evolving art piece. Granted you usually can’t take pics of people working and there are serious hoops to jump for artists that want to display their art but the ones that do make it worth your time.


My only piece of advice…wear a mask – that place has some fumes going. After the jump check out the pics with bonus random French break dancers battling it out.

There was a gallery inside so if you already feel less talented walking around – this will pretty much rub salt in the wound.
