[I Get Risky After Whiskey, Day 4 – Delhi, India]

August 27, 2013

Better late than never. Here is day 4 of our India adventure. We had one more full day in Delhi before taking off to Nepal the next day. One thing we definitely needed to check off the list was my newly emaciated ex-roomate’s descent into dirtiniess. It was time. Time to shower.

Ben agreed to a hot shave at a hair dresser nearby. What started out as a $1.50 shave and haircut combo soon turned into a $6-7 masterpiece. The barber at the aptly named Good Luck Hairdressers convinced Ben to go for “the works” which seemingly includes a shave, a one look haircut aka baldness and getting your face buffed, face masked, buffed, lotioned, ear wax removal as well as the general face rub.

After being so fresh and clean, Krishna picked us up for a trip to Qutub Minar. Qutub Minar is the tallest minar in India. It is almost entirely made of sandstone and red marble.

To round out our final touristy day in Delhi we also went to the Bahai Temple in the city. The Lotus Temple. I really like visiting Bahai temples, where thinks are always free and regretted not being able to see the one in Haifa in Israel.

We also swung by our favorite NY staple Saravana Bhavan (the Delhi location) It figures that I would need to go to a restaurant basically across the street from me in another country. It was still delicious.

Before we head off to Nepal tomorrow, here are a few pics of the best sweet place nearby:

Outside people were making Jalebis, they clearly had no idea what i was doing with Vine haha

Inside we could do a weigh and pay so I made a giant heavy box that rounded out to a jaw dropping 180 rupee. So roughly $3.

They wanted me to stop taking photos I'm sure but could also tell I would purchase things [via iPhone]
