As I do with most things, I made a whim decision to book a bus ticket with my friend/old roommate Ben a few months ago thinking how nice it would be to get out of the city for a bit. This decision, for once worked out in our favor despite the extra cold weather. We both rode the torturous five hours to Boston for the weekend only to split up shortly after a quick lunch and get so distracted we met back up at the train station on Sunday.
We got into the city sort of early so we decided to grab, what else but a seafood lunch before meeting up with our friends. Ben likes to refer to our walk around Quincy market, browsing the Clarks’ sale and down to lunch as a “stroll down traumatic lane” due to the last time I was here. However hilarious that was, Boston will always be where I grew up so I pretty much can’t go wrong on any visit.
There was a bit of a wait at Neptune Oyster since its quite popular so we stopped next door and had some hot cider, also where I found these sugar cookies. Excuse the instagram, I think you’ll see why it was worthy of a snap.
How does one go to Boston and not have a lobster roll? I wouldn’t know. Despite a long dinner at Blue Water Grill the night before, we dove into the heavily Foursquare recommended lobster roll and fried clams.
Shortly after this we parted ways and there will be a huge lapse in photos because Liana and I went shopping on Newbury Street. We did however stop by a Nespresso store and had a sip as she found refills for her machine. This was completely worth it because now I’m officially converted to wanting one.
So here is all of what you will miss in this post because I was too busy having fun:
2- Going to the Asian Market for dinner and having Japanese Curry
3- Wine & Cheese night with all the girls and finally going to bed at 2 am
So now it’s Sunday…
We decided to grab brunch at Ball Square Cafe and along the way I snapped some pictures of Liana who fought me on it and will absolutely hate these:
Of course before this post ends I should mention that the real star of the weekend was 5 month old Lola. She can pretty much make anyone do anything for her…
